The BGA model for search and placement was founded by the late June Gregory. A successful singer in the Big Band era, June founded Gregory and Leigh, a contingency direct hire placement firm in 1981. As anyone who met June can attest to, she may have been the world's greatest career counselor. June had the unique ability to see the very best in each person she counseled. More than just seeing the best in people, June was fierce in not letting them settle for anything less in their careers. Incredibly insightful, she was able to help individuals uncover their deepest desires. Remarkably courageous and always straight forward, she was able to communicate the exact obstacles that were holding candidates back from fulfilling their dreams. She was a master at helping candidates and companies gain a better understanding of their unique strengths, talents and gifts.

In 1983 June hired Brian Golter as an entry level recruiter. He worked for and apprenticed under June for 20 years until her death in 2004.

When Brian started working for June he was fresh out of college. The position wasn't the job, industry, salary or commute he wanted. But he was intrigued by her integrity, passion and joy - not only for her work, but for life in general.

Working for June turned out to be the best decision of Brian's life. It wasn't always easy by any means. In fact, those first five years were the most challenging times of his life. He had so much to learn. But over the years she was able to bring out the best in him. Ironically, that's what he really wanted in his career - to find a leader who could bring out his very best.

The mission at BGA is very simple. We exist to continue June's legacy; To bring out the best in candidates, clients and ourselves; to bring our passion, integrity and enjoyment to each placement. We can't fail - June wouldn't allow it!
